Which metal accessories do you need?

Small metal parts carry the load in a garment or a bag. They are the pieces a buyer notices immediately when they fail, so they are usually specified by size and finish rather than by name alone.

Questions buyers ask about metal accessories

How do I measure an eyelet?
Measure the inside diameter of the hole, not the outside of the ring. Also tell us how thick the fabric is, because the barrel of the eyelet has to pass through it and still turn over against the washer.
What size D-ring do I need?
Measure the width of the strap that has to pass through it. The inside width of the ring should match that strap width. A ring that is too wide lets the strap twist.
Which finish should I choose?
Brass, nickel and gunmetal are the usual three. It is a look decision more than a strength one. Tell us whether the fitting sits against a light or a dark fabric and we will tell you what buyers normally pick.
